William "Bill" Jeane Clarkson

William Jeane “Bill” Clarkson, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at his residence.

Born March 31, 1942, in Seymour, he was the son of the late William E. and Elsie Marie (Reeves) Clarkson.

Bill was a 1960 graduate of North Vernon High School and attended Ball State University. He was a salesman and entrepreneur and had several businesses. Bill’s passion in life was music, being a talented guitarist but could play multiple instruments. He could listen to a song once and be able to play it on his guitar. He had a free spirit and a love of people; he knew no stranger.

He is survived by his sons, Destin Clarkson of Indianapolis and William “Billy” (Tiffany) Clarkson of Jacksonville, Florida; daughters, Holly (Keith) Higginbotham of Callahan, Florida and Heather (Stuart) Serbousek of Jacksonville, Florida; companion, Jo McCord of Indianapolis; brothers, John (Judy) Clarkson, Frank Clarkson, and Jeff (Edie) Clarkson, all of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Debbie Pate of Jacksonville, Florida; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jay Clarkson.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon with a Celebration of Life to follow at the North Vernon Moose Lodge starting at 12:00 p.m.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made in honor of Bill through the funeral home for expenses.
