Timothy Nelson Spaulding

Timothy Nelson Spaulding, 71, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at his residence.

Born March 26, 1955, in Spencer County, he was the son of the late James Spaulding and Sarah (Lawrence) Spaulding Engelking. He married Roberta Hamblen on October 25, 1975, in Brownstown; she survives.

Timothy retired in 2023, after 20 years from H&L Tree Services where he was on the mowing crew for the utility company’s substations. He had previously worked in the Forging Industry at North Vernon Forge; North Vernon Drop and Impact Forge.  

He loved spending time with his family vacationing in the Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg area where he enjoyed Hillbilly Golf. He loved taking his Applehead Chihuahua for rides, “Princess” was his whole world.

Surviving with his wife, Roberta Spaulding of North Vernon; is his son, Brad (Carrie) Spaulding of North Vernon; his daughter, Tina (Jimmy) Clarke of North Vernon; siblings, Norman Spaulding of Seymour, Benet (Cindy) Smith of Butlerville, and Robert Wilhite of North Vernon; grandchildren, Raymond Clarke, Sarah Wager, Samantha Clarke, Ariana Spaulding and Aaliya Spaulding, all of North Vernon, and Austin Miller of Savannah, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Brantley Stockelman of North Vernon, and Everleigh Jade Miller of Savannah, Georgia; his extended family, Angel Haysler and children; Dakota Mings, Cheyenne England, Derek Ross, and Caydence Haysler, all Paris Crossing,

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David and Samuel Spaulding, and Jimmy Lawrence; sisters, Mary Napier and Minnie Johnson; great-granddaughter, Willow Jade Miller.

A funeral service for Timothy will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Jeremiah Dean officiating. The visitation with family and friends will be on Sunday, from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until the start of the service. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.

Memorials may be made in memory of Timothy through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc or Schneck Hospice.
