Rosemary “Rosie” Solomon, 79, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:33 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the home of her daughter in Bloomington.
Born November 14, 1946, in Alma, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Wesley and Mary Maxine (Munn) Snyder. She married Bryan Solomon on December 21, 1968, In Kankakee, Illinois; he survives.
Rosie was a 1965 graduate of Alma High School, in Alma, Michigan and attended Olivet Nazarene University. She worked for Nazarene District NMI (Nazarene Missionary International) Southwest Indiana. Rosie was a member of Cloverdale Church of the Nazarene in Cloverdale. She enjoyed being active in her church and making crafts.
Surviving with her husband, Bryan; is her son, George Wesley Solomon of Columbus; her daughters, Barbee Solomon of Bloomington and Christine (Bryan) Callon of Nashville; grandchildren, Andrea (Shannessey Brown) Marsh of Bloomington and Everleigh Solomon of Columbus; and great-grandchild, Zoey Callon of Nashville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Lee Gehrcke.
A graveside service for Rosie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in the Shiloh Cemetery in Rush County with the Rev. Al Dicer officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
A meal will be held at the New Castle Church of Nazarene, 1727 Grand Ave, New Castle, Indiana 47362 after the service all are welcome to attend.
Memorials in honor of Rosie may be made through the funeral home to the Florida Holiness Campgrounds.
