Roger “Dale” Burton, 57, of Elizabethtown, passed away at 11:19 a.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at his residence.
Born June 28, 1968, in Wichita Falls, Texas, he was the son of the late Roger Burton and Rose (Boucher) Meeks of North Vernon. He married Tammy Bellows on July 4, 2014, in North Vernon.
Dale was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in production for Cummins Engine Company at the Walesboro plant and was the co-owner of Picker’s Paradise in Columbus for the past fifteen years. Dale had a passion for classic cars. He enjoyed motorcycles, building furniture, and spending time with his family and grandkids.
Survivors include his wife Tammy; mother, Rose Meeks of North Vernon; daughters, Cryssa (Jon) Sayles of Elizabethtown, Tessa (Dusty) Andrews of Robinson, Illinois, and MaKenzi Burton of Columbus; sons, Bryan Landis and Christopher Landis, both of Elizabethtown; brothers, Brian (Katrina) Burton of Palestine, Illinois, and Brandon (Kelsey) Meeks of Robinson, Illinois; sisters, Jessica (Sam) Niese of Columbus and Stephanie Weaver of Robinson, Illinois; and grandchildren, Alexi, Carson, and Layne Sayles all of Elizabethtown, Adeline and Eleigh Andrews both of Robinson Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A funeral service for Dale will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. The visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery in Columbus.
Memorials may be made in honor of Dale through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc.
