Patsy Ann (Owens) Brooks

Patsy Ann Brooks, 79, of Hanover, passed away at 3:59 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the University of Louisville Health in Louisville, Kentucky.

She was born April 14, 1947, in Rosiclare, Illinois, the daughter of the late William Harrison “Bill” and Ramona Ann (Potts) Owens. She married Harold Brooks on March 27, 1965. in North Vernon; he survives.

Patsy earned her GED from Columbus High School and worked the assembly line for Grote in Madison for 38 years. She was a member of the Senior Executive Board at Thornton Terrace in Hanover. Patsy enjoyed shopping, going to the movies, making crafts, gardening and flowers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving with her husband Harold, are her sons, Todd (JoEllen) Brooks of Hayden and Jody Brooks of North Vernon; brother, Gary Owens of Columbus; sister, Vicky Miller of Columbus; grandchildren, Kristine (Michael) Johnson of Madison, Kelly Brooks and Cory Brooks, both of Hayden, Jody Brooks, Emily Brooks, Nick Brooks, and Zack Brooks, all of North Vernon; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents; son Marty Brooks; and stepfather, Gordon Lanham.

The funeral for Patsy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. The visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026, and one hour prior to the service on Friday. The burial will follow in Hayden Cemetery in Hayden.

Memorials may be made in honor of Patsy through the funeral home to donor’s choice of organization.
