Lorraine (Barba) Whitson

Lorraine Whitson, 87, of Elizabethtown, passed away at 5:47 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at her residence.

Born May 11, 1939, in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Joseph and Loretta (Travena) Barba.

Lorraine worked at the Shoe Store in Columbus for 25 years. She was a member of TOPS for a longtime and a member of St.  Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus. Lorraine had a great smile and was always happy, she loved spending time with her family and held her faith and church very dear to her heart.

Survivors include her sons, Andrew Whitson and Scott (Teri) Whitson; her daughter, Lynn Lutz; grandchildren, Kirsten (Jeremy) Gilmore, Kia (Cody Garvey) Lutz, and Kara Lutz; and great-grandchildren, Reyce Garvey, Westyn Garvey, Grant Gilmore, Lane Gilmore and Arayah Lutz.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, William and Joseph Barba.

A funeral for Lorraine will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Columbus with Pastor Douglas Bauman officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
