Keith Wayne Biddinger, 95, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:33 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.
Born July 8, 1931, in Quail Town, he was the son of the late Clancy and Lorena Biddinger. He married his first wife, Thelma Hatfield on May 10, 1952, she preceded him in death on December 15, 1992. He then married his second wife, Rita (Speer) Smedley on October 17, 1992; she preceded him in death on June 9, 2012.
Keith served in the United State Army. He worked maintenance for Cummins Engine Company for 33 years before retiring in 1985; he also owned and operated Biddinger’s Small Engine Repair at his residence for 20 years. He was a member of North Vernon Church of Christ and a former member of East Columbus Christian Church and Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Columbus. Keith enjoyed working on small engines, watching sports and NASCAR, eating fried chicken, riding a bicycle, and he loved to exercise and take walks.
He is survived by his daughter, Vicki (Tim) Horn of Columbus; his step-daughters, Marcia (Gary) Green and Darlene (Tom) Horton, both of North Vernon; his companion, Evelyn Shultz of North Vernon; grandchildren, Keith J. Horn of North Vernon; six step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Horn of North Vernon and Kaleb Horn of Butlerville; and several great-step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives; daughter, Deniece Childers; brothers, Tom and Bill Biddinger; and grandchildren Amanda Watson and Daniel Burton.
A funeral service for Keith will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Jongmin Lee officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery in Bartholomew County with military graveside rites.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Keith to the American Heart Association.
