John Alan Wade

John Alan Wade, 58, of North Vernon, passed away 12:56 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon.

Born August 21, 1967, in Seymour, he was the son of the late James and Jewell (Smith) Wade.

John was a former member of the Vernon Volunteer Fire Department in Vernon. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and scrapping metal.

Survivors include his daughter, Rachael Wade of New Albany; brother, David Wade of North Vernon; sister, Cheryl Wade of Columbus; and friend, Joe Wright of North Vernon.

He was preceded death by his parents; and uncle and aunt, Charlie and Bonnie Cardinal.

A graveside service for John will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026, in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon with the Rev. Dale Boyd officiating. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon were entrusted with these arrangements.

Memorials in honor of John may be made through the funeral home to the Vernon Volunteer Fire Department.
