Jeremy Ray “Jay” Jackson II, 19, of Butlerville, passed away at 1:29 p.m. on June 2, 2026, in Bartholomew County.
Born April 10, 2007, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Shannan Ray Willhite and Jeremy Ray Jackson I. He attended Jennings County High School and obtained his GED in 2025..
Jay enjoyed playing basketball, staying up too late playing video games, and expressing his creativity through painting and drawing. He had a passion for designer athletic shoes and took pride in building an impressive collection. Jay dreamed of one day becoming a tattoo artist, combining his artistic talent with his desire to create something meaningful and lasting. He will be remembered for his creativity, his individuality, and the unique way he saw the world around him.
Survivors include his companion, Chrissy Rae of Edinburgh; brother, Justus Wooten of Knabb; sister, Jasmine McCormick of Brownstown; grandparents, Lee (Kitty) Randall of North Vernon and Tamara Jackson of Indianapolis; aunt, Ashley (Robert) Mullins of Butlerville and Jennifer Weber of Franklin; cousins, Paige Mullins of Butlerville and Eden Weber of Franklin; and advocate, Jaime Greathouse of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Shannan Ray Willhite, and grandfather, George Jackson. .
A funeral service for Jay will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. The visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until the start of the service.
Memorials may be made in honor of Jay through the funeral home for Advocates for Children and Jay's Fund.
