Janice Roselle Kirkham, 80, of North Vernon, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at her residence.
Born November 27, 1945, in Covington, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Russell Hall and Elizabeth (Cornett) Wells. She married Francis “Sonny” Kirkham on August 8, 1964, in North Vernon; he survives.
Janice worked for Lawerence and LaVerne Decor Center, 20 plus years for Soil and Water Conservation and worked in Real Estate. She was a member of Dupont Baptist Church. Janice enjoyed shopping, interior decorating, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving with her husband, Sonny; is her son, Matthew Kirkham of North Vernon; her daughter, Laverne (Steve) Vanosdol of North Vernon; brother, Terry (Kathy) Hall of West Virginia; sister Barbra (Gordon) McGuire of Columbus; grandchildren, Kate Todd of North Vernon, McKensie (Luke) Hurt of Columbus, Janaye (Devon Webster) Day of North Vernon, Courtney Kirkham Barker of Seymour and Cambry Kirkham of North Vernon; and great-grandchildren, Lillian Todd and Jason Todd of North Vernon, Emmett Hurt and Charolette Hurt of Columbus, and Oliver Cockerham and Atlas Whipple of Seymour.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, French “Pete” Barnett and Roger Wells; and her beloved pet, Kally.
A funeral service for Janice will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with the Brother Jeff Jones officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials in honor of Janice may be made through the funeral home to Vernon Volunteer Fire Department or Schneck Hospice.
