Gordon Lee Randall, 78, of Jeffersonville, passed away at 12:57 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2026, in Clarksville.
Born August 14, 1947, in Anderson, he was the son of Ralph Emerson Randall and Mildred A. (Hopkins) Randall. Gordon married Jean Ann McCoy on August 11, 1972, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Jeffersonville.
Gordon was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving four years from 1966 to 1970. He graduated in 1965 from North Vernon High School and obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1974 at Indiana University-Southeast. Gordon retired from the U.S. Census Bureau, where he received the Bureau's highest honorary distinction, the U.S. Census Bureau Bronze Medal, presented to him in Washington, D.C.
He was also a member of the First Christian Church of Jeffersonville, served on the landscaping committee with the church, and was a 321 reader for the Clarksville school system. Gordon enjoyed doing puzzles, riding bicycles, running, gardening, and doing yard work. He was fond of sports; the Cleveland Guardians and IU being his favorite teams.
Survivors include his wife; his daughter Leigh Randall of Cincinnati; sister, Rosemary (Dennis) Edens of North Vernon; granddaughters, Sydney Wilcoxson of Cincinnati and Molly Wilcoxson of Chicago, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Timothy Randall and William “Billy” Randall; sister, Barbara (Randall) Woodson; and brother-in-law, Tom McCoy.
The funeral service for Gordon will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, with Terry Brammer officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Military honors and burial to follow at Vernon Cemetery, in Vernon.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the First Christian Church of Jeffersonville on Middle Road.
