Daniel Roark

Daniel Roark, 69, of Commiskey, Indiana, passed away in Saturday, August 15, 2026, at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, after a long, courageous fight against Melanoma that entered his brain.

Dan was born May 23rd, 1957, in Whitesburg, Kentucky to the late Jonah and Opal Roark. He married the love of his life Donna Woods in 2002, who he shared two stepdaughters with and who preceded him in death in 2019.

Dan was known by all who crossed paths with him as a talented musician, and brilliant electrician/mechanic, a kind outstanding family man, and someone who everyone could count on. He enjoyed writing music, playing his guitars, studying architecture, completing 3D puzzles, helping the family fix their broken appliances, cars, and electronics; but most of all he enjoyed being the most amazing papaw to his grandkids and great grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna; parents, Jonah and Opal; and siblings, Curliss, Bertha and Tommy.

He is survived by his brothers, Garland, Carol, and Lonnie (Linda); his sister, Chenilla; his stepdaughters, Torrie Guernsey (Jeremy) and Karri Lewis (Kevin); his grandkids, Desirae (Jorge), Joshua, Kali, and Kirra; his great-grandkids, Evelyene, Lyla, Elijah and Delilah; his nieces and nephews, Kelly (Bobbie), Barbara, Christina, Tonya, Karen, and Stacy.  

A memorial service for Dan will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. The visitation with family and friends will be on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until the start of the service.

Memorials may be made in honor of Dan through the funeral home for help with funeral expenses.
