Christopher “Riley” Allman, 20, of North Vernon passed away on May 14, 2026. Born on March 4, 2006, Riley lived a quiet life rooted in the things he loved most.
Riley was never the loudest person in the room. He was quiet, observant, and calm. He was someone who showed love more through presence than words. Riley was quick-witted and loved to tease his family every chance he got. The people closest to him knew the depth of his heart in the way he spent time with them, showed up when it mattered, and found comfort in familiar things.
Riley worked at Toyota Material Handling as a welder. He loved welding, both as a hobby and a career, taking pride in working with his hands and creating something solid and lasting. Riley also loved fishing with his brothers-in-laws and best friend Dustin, all things diesel trucks, and playing video games to unwind.
Riley is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Sherry Allman and Doris Grinstead; nieces, Arya and Jemma Van Volkenburgh; great aunt, Anita Wilson; and friend, Tyler Wells.
He is survived by his mother and father, Lisa and Chris Allman; sisters, Abby (Jordan) Van Volkenburgh and Lacey (Caleb) Jenkins; nephews, Jericho and Isaiah; and grandparents, Leon and Terri Allman.
Though Riley was quiet, his absence will be impossibly loud to those who loved him. He leaves behind a family who loves him deeply and countless people who will carry his memory with them every day.
Services for Riley will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Jennings Church of Christ in North Vernon. Visitation will be from 5:30-6:00 p.m. with the Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m.
Memorials in honor of Riley may be made through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue and Adoption Inc.
Arrangements were entrusted to Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
